NSI’s John Davidson wins FSA Outstanding Contribution Award

THE NATIONAL Security Inspectorate (NSI) is delighted to announce that its technical service manager John Davidson has received the Fire & Security Association’s (FSA) 2025 Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Security Industry.

The award was presented at the Electrical Contractors’ Association’s (ECA) Industry Awards Dinner, held on 10 October at the Hilton London Bankside, which is all about celebrating excellence across the electrotechnical and security sectors.

Presented annually, the FSA Award for Outstanding Contribution recognises individuals who’ve made a significant and lasting impact on the UK’s fire and security industries.

Davidson has spent more than 31 years championing quality, standards and professionalism in the fire and security sectors and is widely respected for his technical expertise, fairness and continual commitment to raising the bar when it comes to professionalism and standards.

Excellent work

John Davidson commented: “I’m honoured to receive this award from the FSA. It has been a privilege to work alongside so many dedicated professionals across the fire and security industries who share the same goal: maintaining the highest standards of safety, security and trust. It’s hugely rewarding to see my contribution recognised by my peers. I see this recognition as a reflection of the great work being done across both business sectors.”

Richard Fogelman, CEO at the NSI, added: “John’s contribution to the UK’s security industry has been remarkable. His depth of technical knowledge, integrity and leadership have had a lasting influence, both within the NSI and across the wider community. This award is richly deserved and we’re incredibly proud to see John’s achievements recognised.”

Specialist group

The FSA is a specialist group within the ECA, itself the UK’s leading Trade Association for the electrotechnical services industry.

The FSA Awards highlight outstanding individual contributions that advance quality, standards and innovation across the fire and security sectors. This particular award is the longest established individual award in the security industry and was established in memory of Peter Greenwood.

The FSA’s Outstanding Contribution Award is bestowed upon an individual who demonstrates the same kind of enthusiasm and selfless concern for the industry which Peter himself unerringly demonstrated.
