THE SECURITY Event and the Confederation of European Security Services (CoESS) have announced a new strategic partnership ahead of the 2026 edition of the hugely popular Nineteen Group show, in turn marking an important step forward in bringing the European security community closer together.
As a direct result of the partnership, CoESS will host its annual meeting at The Security Event 2026, which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham from 28-30 April.
The Security Event is widely regarded as Europe’s leading exhibition and conference dedicated to the security industry. The show brings together thousands of security professionals each year who are involved in security guarding, risk management, technology, integration and public and private sector security leadership.
This partnership represents the first collaboration of its kind between The Security Event and CoESS, with both organisations sharing a long-term ambition to build on this working relationship in future years. By aligning the CoESS annual meeting with The Security Event, the partnership will create a powerful platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange and collaboration across borders, thereby serving to strengthen connections between UK and European security professionals.
Voice of the industry
CoESS is the voice of the security industry in Europe, representing 22 national associations and 45,000 companies. The organisation works closely with European institutions and social partners to promote high professional standards, responsible business practices, workforce development and a strong social dialogue within the security sector.
Further, CoESS plays a key role in shaping policy, advocacy and Best Practice across the European security landscape.
The Security Event, of course, is part of Nineteen Group’s Safety and Security Event Series and serves as a central meeting place for manufacturers, service providers, installers, integrators, consultants and end users. Alongside the exhibition, The Security Event delivers a comprehensive Continuing Professional Development-accredited conference programme addressing the evolving challenges facing the security industry, covering everything from skills and professionalism through to technology, regulation and resilience.
Shared commitment
Peter Poole, Group event director for The Security Event, commented: “We’re delighted to be partnering with CoESS and will welcome the organisation’s annual meeting at The Security Event. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to supporting a professional, collaborative and forward-looking security industry. By bringing European security leaders together at The Security Event, we’re creating new opportunities for insight, discussion and long-term co-operation. This is very much the start of a relationship we intend to grow in the years ahead.”
Catherine Piana, director general of CoESS, stated: “CoESS is pleased to support The Security Event this year and very much looks forward to engaging with stakeholders in Birmingham. As the European voice of the private security services industry, we welcome the opportunity to exchange opinions on the latest solutions driving innovation in integrated security services, from remote monitoring and alarm response through to cyber security and critical infrastructure protection.”
Piana concluded: “Events like this help to strengthen co-operation across the security ecosystem and support a more resilient and prepared Europe. We’re proud to contribute towards an ongoing dialogue with our members.”
The partnership underscores the growing importance of international collaboration within the security sector and reinforces The Security Event’s role as a key hub for strategic conversation, policy insight and industry leadership at both the UK and European levels.
