SKILLS FOR Security, the UK’s leading provider of security and fire systems apprenticeship training, has welcomed East Midlands Central Station (EMCS) as its newest platinum sponsor within the Sponsorship Programme, in turn marking a significant step forward in relation to efforts aimed at strengthening the sector’s future workforce.
EMCS is the UK’s largest independent Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) and enjoys a long-standing reputation for reliability and innovation in parallel with its commitment to supporting security installers.
Through this new partnership, both organisations aim to address the security industry’s skills gap, while creating more opportunities for young people to access structured training and long-term careers.
Edward Barge, managing director at EMCS, observed: “As the UK’s largest independent ARC, we’re proud to support Skills for Security. Partnering with an organisation that’s so dedicated to developing the next generation of engineers through apprenticeship programmes is a fantastic opportunity for our sector.”
Barge continued: “Supporting installers and their businesses is vital to ensure continued progress and innovation. Through this partnership, we can help in bridging the skills gap, meeting the growing demand for qualified professionals and safeguarding the future of our industry for years to come.”
Direct support
The partnership will see EMCS provide direct support to Skills for Security’s apprenticeship programmes, enabling the organisation to expand its reach, enhance its training facilities and develop new resources.
This new agreement directly reflects a shared commitment to building a highly skilled and future-ready workforce that can meet the evolving challenges of the security sector.
David Scott, managing director of Skills for Security, explained: “Partnerships like this one continue to show the strength of our sector when businesses and training providers work together. EMCS’ backing will allow us to extend our reach, inspire more people to consider careers in the security and fire sectors and also create meaningful pathways into these industries. This is about investing in the skills and innovation that will carry our profession forward.”
