AddSecure UK’s NGP achieves BSI’s coveted Kitemark certification

Every product in the NGP meets one of the European Telecommunications Standards Institute’s (ETSI) standards, which outlines technical specifications for IoT and Internet-connected devices in order to prevent unauthorised access, data leaks and other common types of cyber attack.  

Achieving the certification criteria includes meeting ETSI EN 303 645, which outlines 68 requirements. Kitemark certification is an ongoing process with regular retests and covers everything from how software updates must be carried out through to how communications are relayed.  

Bryn Sutton, global commercial director for product certification at the BSI, said: “The trust and confidence that certification provides to protecting connected devices, platforms and customer data from cyber threats is crucial. Congratulations to the AddSecure team on the achievement of the BSI Kitemark certification for IoT devices.”

Trio of certifications  

AddSecure launched its NGP in the UK last year, an event that coincided with a successful collaboration involving BT Redcare to migrate the latter’s alarm signalling systems to AddSecure’s NGP platform.

The range comprises six products, including both fixed IP and Wi-Fi connected models, as well as single 4G or dual path options with fixed IP + 4G back-up and Dual Radio 4G + 4G.  

The NGP has also been awarded the Building Research Establishment certificate for safety and security standards and the Secured by Design Police Preferred Specification for crime prevention. This makes AddSecure UK the only alarm signalling service to obtain all three certifications at the same time.
