ADDSECURE HAS launched NGP SafeCall in a bid to assist facilities managers and installers seeking connections to the 4G network for their legacy equipment, thereby ensuring that analogue systems are upgraded and continue to work after the PSTN switch-off, which is scheduled for 31 January 2027.
With many systems still relying on the PSTN to communicate, AddSecure has designed NGP SafeCall as a 4G Voice over Long-Term Evolution (VoLTE) solution that uses a built-in dial capture port to minimise the need for equipment to be reprogrammed, rewired or replaced.
Failing to update legacy systems that rely on PSTN could expose businesses to significant risk, notably so if the systems fail without warning or notification.
The new solution offers a simple way in which to connect legacy equipment such as lift line auto diallers, speech dialler systems, public safety systems and other systems and devices. It has been designed to help those affected by the PSTN switch-off overcome outdated technology with minimal disruption.
Dual SIM cards
The technology harbours dual SIM cards for the best possible coverage, 12-hour battery back-up and other smart features such as Intelligent Battery Management to extend battery life plus real-time alerts to improve response to system failure or downtime, rendering it both reliable and future-proofed.
Nicholas Whiting, vice-president for alarm signalling at AddSecure UK, explained: “With the PSTN switch-off now fast approaching, NGP SafeCall offers a simple, reliable and future-proof solution for connecting legacy equipment with the added benefit of monitoring, allowing for the early detection of any issues. The solution has been specially designed using existing NGP technology in order to make the transition to 4G as seamless as possible for customers, technical managers and installers alike.”
