The Safety and Security Event Series introduces Next Gen Network

NINETEEN GROUP’S hugely successful Safety and Security Event Series is launching the Next Gen Network: a new ambassador programme designed to champion young professionals and support the next wave of talent entering the security, safety, workplace and integration sectors.

The Next Gen Network will serve as a platform for early career professionals to share experiences, shape industry conversations and participate more visibly in the events, content and communities that comprise the Safety and Security Event Series, which runs from 28-30 April at the NEC in Birmingham. This initiative aims not only to highlight emerging voices, but also to invest in their development.

Across all sectors represented within the Safety and Security Event Series (from physical and cyber security to fire safety, Health and Safety, workplace experience and professional AV integration), organisations are under increasing pressure to close skills gaps, diversify their talent pipelines and future-proof their workforces. These challenges sit at the very core of the Next Gen Network initiative, which encourages collective action in order to attract, support and elevate the next generation of industry professionals.

As part of its launch, the Next Gen Network will afford ambassadors the opportunity to engage in a wide range of activities. Those activities include contributing to panel discussions, supporting content creation, attending networking and community events and, what’s more, helping shape the programme’s future direction.

Ambassadors will also have access to dedicated opportunities at the event, including the Next Gen Networking Drinks at the end of Day One on 28 April, which offers a relaxed environment in which to connect with peers and industry leaders.

Significant responsibility

“We have an enormous responsibility to help build the workforce of tomorrow,” explained Nathan Stovell, senior marketing manager at Nineteen. “Young people bring new ideas and new energy and also a different lens on the challenges our industries face. The Next Gen Network is our commitment to giving them the space and support they deserve.”

The introduction of the Next Gen Network marks the next step in the Safety and Security Event Series’ mission to foster collaboration, education and progression at every level. Crucially, the initiative is being launched with the support of several leading industry bodies, among them the Fire Industry Association, Skills for Security and Women Talking Fire, all of whom share a commitment to strengthening skills pipelines, improving diversity and future-proofing the sector.

The Safety and Security Event Series encompasses The Security Event, the National Cyber Security Show, The Fire Safety Event, The Workplace Event, The Health and Safety Event and Pro Integration Future Europe. Covering the entire buying chain, these dedicated events provide a unique platform for networking and collaboration. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with major industry players showcasing their latest products and solutions in security, fire safety, Health and Safety, workplace and integration solutions.
