THE SOCIETY for Education and Training (SET) has welcomed the UK’s largest fire and security apprenticeship provider body, namely Skills for Security, as a SET Corporate Partner. This partnership agreement with Skills for Security will result in all of the company’s training staff becoming SET members.
Staff will benefit from a valuable range of professional development opportunities, including access to exclusive online content, the quarterly inTuition journal, the SET’s online library, live webinar events and early bird offers on attendance at SET conferences.
Announcing the partnership arrangement, David Scott (managing director at Skills for Security) said: “We have been looking to join SET for some time now. We’re passionate about continuously developing our staff and offering the highest quality of training throughout the fire and security sectors. The resources and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities offered by SET are second to none and at very affordable pricing. It’s important that all of our teaching staff from engineering backgrounds are trained and competent tutors. Working with the SET allows us to achieve this goal.”
SET is the only professional membership body dedicated to teachers and trainers working in further education. As new SET members, staff at Skills for Security will be joining the largest professional network of teachers and trainers in the further education sector, with opportunities to share expertise and experiences with their peers.
Martin Reid, director of SET, explained: “We are supporting Skills for Security with its aim of improving skills and professionalism within the security sector. Our partnership will provide teaching staff with access to a host of expertise and resources and CPD opportunities, including enabling them to study for both Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills and Advanced Teacher Status. We look forward to supporting our new members in striving for excellence in their professional journey.”
