Paxton recognised in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2025

BRIGHTON-BASED security technology manufacturer Paxton has been recognised in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2025: a list highlighting companies where people feel genuinely supported, valued and proud of where they work.

Powered by WorkL, the listing evaluates organisations using detailed employee feedback across six key areas: Reward and Recognition, Instilling Pride, Information Sharing, Empowerment, Well-Being and Job Satisfaction. Paxton’s inclusion is a strong endorsement of the company’s commitment to create an engaging environment for its employees.

Nicola O’Donnell, Paxton’s chief people officer, stated: “Being named one of the Best Places to Work is a real testament to the people who make Paxton what it is. Our aim has always been to create a workplace where people feel valued and listened to and genuinely enjoy coming to work each day. This recognition is based on their voices. That makes it incredibly meaningful.”

Employee survey

As part of the assessment process, anonymous feedback was gathered directly from employees. This year’s results revealed that:

*84% of Paxton’s employees reported having a good relationship with their manager

*82% said they feel treated with respect

*77% expressed pride in working for Paxton

These results highlight the strength of Paxton’s people-focused culture and the value employees place on their day-to-day experience.

Paxton has a consistent track record of being recognised as a top employer. The company was first featured in The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2018, ranking 49th, and returned to the list in 2019 and 2020.

In 2023, Paxton was ranked 22nd in the Best Companies to Work For list and was named the Number One manufacturer to work for in the UK.

Nicola O’Donnell added: “While it’s always great to reflect on how far we’ve come, we’re focused on what comes next. We’re continuing to listen and evolve, in turn making sure that Paxton remains a place where people can do their best work, develop their careers and really feel part of something.”

Pioneering technology

Founded in 1985, Paxton has grown from a small UK start-up into a global security technology manufacturer and now exports to over 60 countries. The company develops and manufactures intelligent security systems with companion apps that simplify secure access for customers around the world.

*Paxton10: a unified platform combining access control and video management

*Entry: a smart door-entry system that can open the door with a smart phone

*PaxLock: battery-powered electronic door handles for simple, wireless installations

These systems are supported by four companion apps:

*Paxton Entry app: manage and monitor door entry from a smart phone

*Paxton Key app: mobile credential access for Net2 and Paxton10

*Paxton Connect app: remote administration of systems from anywhere worldwide

Adam Stroud, Paxton’s CEO, commented: “Innovation happens when you bring together good ideas, the right environment and people who care about what they do. At Paxton, we’ve worked hard to build a culture enabling exactly that. It’s rewarding to see this reflecte not just in our products, but in terms of how our people feel about working here.”
