THE SUNDAY Times has named FGH Security one of the ‘Best Places to Work’ in the UK for the third consecutive year. Founded in 2003 to keep people safe and raise standards in the UK’s private security industry, FGH Security is the only personnel-based security company to feature on the list to date.

Operating from offices in Lancaster, Liverpool, Manchester and London, the business counts international brands and prominent organisations such as Alstom, Co-op Live, JD Group, Liverpool Football Club, Mission Mars, the New West End Company and Swatch among its customer base.
Peter Harrison, founder and managing director of FGH Security, commented: “Being recognised for the third year in a row is testament to our team’s dedication and the positive culture we’ve nurtured. Our purpose has always been to keep people safe and that process begins with ensuring our own team members feel valued and supported.”
Rewarding career
Referencing career progression, Harrison continued: “I always wanted FGH Security to be recognised as a great company to work for alongside other national and global companies, not just those in the security field. It’s vital we keep shouting about what a rewarding and professional career working in security can be so that we continue to attract the very best talent.”
Further, Harrison noted: “The work our front line team members do in keeping over 100 million people safe every year is vital. We also owe a big thank you to everyone in our support, supervisory and management teams. They’re constantly going the extra mile to look after our team members, delivering an employment experience wherein they can perform at their absolute best.”
Kerri Boddy, a front line security officer who recently stepped into a hybrid office role, commented: “What do I love about working at FGH? The teamwork. There’s no ‘I’ or ‘me’ here. It’s always ‘we’ and ‘us’.”
How the survey works
The Sunday Times partners with employee experience platform WorkL to deliver fresh insights into what makes a ‘Best Place to Work’. The nationwide workplace survey honours and celebrates the UK’s top employers.
To be included in the list, companies need to complete exacting surveys. The submissions are then reviewed following 26 questions from WorkL’s employee engagement survey, developed by behavioural scientists, data analysts, psychologists, business leaders, academics and other independent parties in abid to accurately monitor employee engagement, well-being and discretionary effort in the workplace.
The six pillars are: Reward and Recognition, Instilling Pride, Information Sharing, Empowerment, Well-Being and Job Satisfaction.
Substantial investment
FGH Security puts people at the heart of everything the company does, investing heavily in development, recognition and well-being.
This latest accolade follows the award for ‘Employer of the Year’ at the 15th Red Rose Awards at the beginning of 2025, elevating the company’s regional appreciation into national praise.
FGH Security prioritises the professional growth of its team members through personal ‘Learning and Development’ budgets, in-house training programmes and multiple training courses delivered by sister company FGH Training at no cost to team members.
