THE ELECTRICAL Contractors’ Association (ECA) Industry Awards, which recognise the accomplishments of ECA members and other representatives from across the electrotechnical and engineering services industry, were held on Friday 22 October at the London Hilton Bankside Hotel and hosted by journalist and television presenter Steph McGovern.
Once again, the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) sponsored the Fire and Security Association’s (FSA) Best Fire and Security Project Award and, this time around two NSI approved companies received industry recognition for this category. Those businesses are Darke & Taylor Ltd (winner of the award) and Network Security & Alarms Ltd (with the business being Highly Commended).
The judges of the FSA’s Best Fire and Security Project Award asked nominees for compelling examples of success in the design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and/or monitoring of any type of active fire detection, life safety and/or security systems. Nominees were asked to demonstrate their approach towards evaluating and implementing solutions for their clients, overcoming specific challenges and/or realising opportunities in the built environment.
Richard Jenkins, CEO at the NSI, commented: “The NSI was delighted to once again sponsor the FSA’s Best Fire and Security Project Award. As a specialist group within the ECA and in partnership with SELECT (the Scottish Electrical Contractors Association), the FSA offers national representation for those who design, install, commission, maintain and monitor fire, emergency and security systems. NSI approval demonstrates ongoing compliance with industry recognised standards. That being so, NSI approved companies are afforded fast track membership of the FSA.”
Jenkins added: “We congratulate Darke & Taylor Ltd and Network Security & Alarms Ltd and, indeed, all the winners and finalists at this year’s ECA Industry Awards. They’re fully deserving of industry recognition for their excellent achievements.”
