CONNELLY SECURITY Systems, itself a member company of the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), has partnered with Skills for Security in order to access the latter’s newly developed online technical Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses.
Over the next year, Connelly Security Systems intends to use Skills for Security’s online courses to upskill its workforce, starting with an initial ten engineers. The courses are aimed at installers, project managers, surveyors and maintenance engineers. The training will be delivered through a customised virtual training portal designed to enhance learners’ knowledge of the latest British and European Standards for the design of electronic security systems, including video surveillance, intruder detection, fire detection and access control solutions.
As a BSIA member company, Connelly Security Systems has been able to obtain a 20% discount on the arrangement.
David Scott, managing director at Skills for Security, informed Security Matters: “The pandemic has changed the way in which we think about training. People want flexibility, high quality and affordable courses. Connelly Security Systems prides itself on having a fully qualified and competent workforce. I’ve worked with the company for many years now and have always admired its investment in training and staff.”
Scott continued: “Connelly Security Systems has come to Skills for Security with the intent of showing both its workforce and the wider security industry that upskilling engineers and staff members is both necessary and easy to do. We’re looking forward to implementing a bespoke training plan for the business covering vital topics and that all-important CPD accreditation.”
Current rules and regulations
Corrie Stewart, training and development manager at Connelly Security Systems, responded: “We’re delighted to be undertaking several commercial courses with Skills for Security, thereby ensuring that all of our team members are up-to-date with current rules and regulations in our ever-growing industry.”
