AMAG Technology unveils Symmetry CONNECT 2.0 for ID management

AMAG TECHNOLOGY, the dedicated developer of physical security and identity management solutions, has announced the release of Symmetry CONNECT 2.0: the next evolution of the company’s ‘identity first’ approach towards physical access administration.

Many enterprises don’t operate single access control systems any longer. Mergers, acquisitions, global growth and decentralised operations create a ‘patchwork’ of systems that are difficult to manage, increase risk and slow down response.

AMAG Technology has partnered with SwiftConnect, provider of the connected access network for places and spaces, to offer a “dynamic” physical identity and access management system that allows streamlined identity management across multiple access systems.

Built for the reality of multi-system enterprises, Symmetry CONNECT 2.0 helps customers to unify a single identity across disparate physical access control systems, while preserving existing infrastructure and minimising disruption. Security operators manage one identity while scaling across multiple mixed systems and buildings.

Consistent management

“Symmetry CONNECT 2.0 solves a real-world problem our customers face all the time: managing access rights consistently across multiple access control systems, often inherited through mergers, acquisitions and growth,” explained Jennifer Marx, executive vice-president of product management at AMAG Technology. “We listened and delivered a solution that works with Symmetry and competing platforms so that our customers can manage identities and access with greater speed and confidence.”

Symmetry CONNECT 2.0 delivers a modern and streamlined single user interface where teams can manage every aspect of an identity. From the same view, operators can manage credentials, access rights and roles, onboarding and offboarding as well as approvals. Operators can manage it all from one screen, and changes are applied everywhere, reducing errors and increasing efficiency.

Symmetry CONNECT centres on five core processes: onboarding/offboarding, centralised policy enforcement, self-service access requests, streamlined user experience and audit and compliance. These are areas where work is disconnected and manual, involving e-mails, spreadsheets, phone calls and memory-based processes, which increases risk and slows operations. Symmetry CONNECT is designed to reduce that friction by using a more centralised and identity-centred approach.

“Identity is the centre of access control administration,” asserted Marx. “Symmetry CONNECT helps customers replace manual and inconsistent processes with an automated approach to identity operations, improving transparency, reducing risk and strengthening audit readiness.”

Preserve existing investments

With Symmetry CONNECT 2.0, end user customers can:

*manage one identity across multiple sites and systems to support clean audits and simpler lifecycle management

*preserve existing access control investments, thereby preventing a rip-and-replace scenario, while modernising identity operations over time

*improve onboarding and offboarding speed and consistency with centralised policy-driven administration

*reduce orphaned access risk by improving visibility and control across disparate access systems

*scale globally, supporting acquisitions and access control system consolidation at the customer’s pace

*for integrators, CONNECT 2.0 helps to standardise identity across disparate systems, deliver value quickly with minimal disruption and create ongoing services around identity lifecycle and policy

*Symmetry CONNECT 2.0 is available through AMAG Technology, authorised integrators and resellers. Further information is available online at www.amag.com/symmetry-connect/
