SECURITY AND fire sector certification body the Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB) has announced the appointment of Steve Lampett as the organisation’s new technical manager.
Effective immediately, Lampett will now play a pivotal role in upholding the SSAIB’s esteemed position for technical competence in the certification of both security and fire safety-related services. His responsibilities will also extend to promoting and maintaining high standards of service within these industries.
Lampett brings a wealth of experience to the Whitley Bay-based SSAIB having spent upwards of 35 years working in the security and fire safety sectors. His extensive background includes a noteworthy tenure of over 20 years with Tyco.
In addition, Lampett successfully managed his own business and, most recently, made a hugely significant contribution to the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) across an eight-year tenure in the role of technical manager.
Indeed, during his time at the Trade Association, Lampett played a crucial role in co-ordinating BSIA Sections, developing Codes of Practice and guidelines and providing technical advice. His responsibilities also encompassed managing activities related to environmental compliance.
Through the years, Lampett has been a key figure in the development of industry standards, regularly chairing meetings for the formulation of British Standards at the British Standards Institution and also working on European standards. The commitment to excellence is further evidenced by Lampett’s frequent participation as a speaker at various industry events.
The SSAIB’s keen focus on maintaining high standards and promoting Best Practice very much aligns with Lampett’s own philosophy.
