SKILLS FOR Security is attending the inaugural edition of The Security Event Asia in order to highlight its commitment to building a skilled and professional security workforce through apprenticeships, technical qualifications and Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
The provider of training and skills development for the security industry will be resident on Stand 1525 when The Security Event Asia runs from 11-13 November at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore. The company will share detail on the practical and digital ways in which businesses across the sector can attract new talent, upskill existing members of staff and respond to changing technologies and customer requirements.
Working with employers, partners, training providers and industry bodies alike, Skills for Security focuses on helping security professionals to build the right mix of technical knowledge and real-world competence. One of the core aims is to make training accessible, relevant and flexible for individuals at every stage of their career.
Raising professional standards
David Scott, managing director at Skills for Security, stated: “Our goal has always been to raise professional standards and ensure the security industry has the skills it needs to adapt and grow. Through apprenticeships, qualifications and CPD, we’re helping employers and individuals to stay ahead in an industry that’s shaped by new technologies and changing risks.”
A key feature on Stand 1525 will be Skills On-Demand, the digital training platform offering short and flexible courses that can be completed online. This helps employers to deliver accredited and industry-relevant learning tailored to business needs, while affording employees a convenient way in which to keep their knowledge up-to-date.
The platform supports Skills for Security’s wider mission of promoting lifelong learning and CPD across the industry. By combining digital modules, classroom sessions and practical assessment, Skills On-Demand aims to help individuals build meaningful and sustainable careers in the security domain.
Sharing insights
David Scott concluded: “The Security Event Asia is an exciting opportunity for the global security community to share insights, build partnerships and explore how innovation in training can support a safer and more connected world.”
In conclusion, Scott noted: “We’re looking forward to being part of the conversation with our international colleagues, showcasing initiatives including Skills On-Demand in order to highlight our innovative approach to professional education in the security business sector.”
