Simon Crane and Lee Doddridge appointed in key roles at ASC

OVER THE past few years, the Association of Security Consultants (ASC) has continued to expand its reach, initiatives and engagement across the security sector. In support of this growth, the organisation has now appointed Simon Crane in the role of chair and Lee Doddridge as vice-chair.

Simon Crane brings extensive experience across the security sector and has played a leading role in expanding the ASC’s international engagement during his time as international development director. In this role, Crane was instrumental in developing relationships with organisations including the International Association of Professional Security Consultants in the United States and the Professional Security and Safety Alliance in the UAE, helping to position the ASC and its members within the wider global security community.

Commenting on his appointment, Crane stated: “The ASC has an important role to play in championing independent security consultancy and supporting the professionals who deliver trusted advice across the sector. I’m honoured to take on the role of chair and look forward to working with the Board, our new chief operating officer Gary Thomas and our members to continue developing the Association.”

As chair, Crane will focus on guiding the organisation’s continued development, working with the Board and members to further advance professional standards, collaboration across the industry and the visibility of security consultancy both here in the UK and internationally.

Broad experience

Supporting the chair’s role, Lee Doddridge steps into the role of vice-chair, bringing broad experience across UK businesses, Government departments and security consultancy projects.

In his previous role as the ASC’s director for external events, Doddridge supported the Association’s engagement with members and the wider sector through industry events and collaboration. His practical approach and strong industry insight position him well to support the chair and the Board as the ASC continues to expand its activities on behalf of the membership.

On his new role, Doddridge observed: “The ASC community brings together a wealth of expertise and experience across the security profession. I’m delighted to take on the role of vice-chair and support the continued development of the Association, particularly in strengthening engagement with members and developing events and initiatives that bring our community together.”

Together, Crane and Doddridge bring a strong understanding of the organisation and its members. Their appointments reflect the ASC’s continued commitment to supporting its members, strengthening the profession and promoting the value to be realised from independent security consultancy.
