AT INTERSEC 2025, which ran from 14-16 January at the Dubai World Trade Centre, The Security Institute signed key Memorandums of Understanding with the Security Industry Regulatory Authority (itself part of the Government of Dubai) and the Professional Security and Safety Alliance. These significant agreements were formalised in Dubai, with the Institute’s CEO Professor Simon Hepburn leading on the initiative.
Under the leadership of CEO H.E. Khalifa AI Saleis, the Security Industry Regulatory Authority is committed to ensuring that Dubai achieves the highest standards of safety and security by implementing international Best Practice across security systems, services and personnel.
Similarly, the Professional Security and Safety Alliance, which is chaired by Ahmed Ismaeil Alblooshi, is a key organisation fostering collaboration, innovation and excellence in the security and safety sectors.
The Memorandums of Understanding are designed to enhance communication, co-operation and collaboration between the parties involved. A key focus is on the exchange of knowledge and expertise with a view towards supporting the development of security professionals worldwide.
Strategic alignment
Importantly, these agreements align with the three core pillars of The Security Institute’s recently launched strategy:
*Membership: Expanding and engaging with the Institute’s global membership base
*Professionalisation: Driving standards and excellence within the security profession
*Influence: Strengthening the Institute’s impact and international engagement
The Institute is particularly committed to fostering partnerships in regions where the organisation has a presence and where there’s shared belief in its stated mission.
Shared commitment
Speaking at Intersec 2025, Simon Hepburn commented: “These Memorandums of Understanding are a testament to the shared commitment of the Security Industry Regulatory Authority, the Professional Security and Safety Alliance and The Security Institute to drive excellence within the global security profession. Collaboration is at the heart of our mission. We now look forward to the positive impact these partnerships will deliver.”
