Securitas UK’s Daniel Slade appointed London lead for City Security Council

DANIEL SLADE (area director for London and the South East at Securitas UK) has been appointed as the regional operational lead for the City Security Council’s London Group. With effect from 1 January, Slade will support in advancing the Council’s mission of intelligence sharing, co-ordinated crisis response and close partnership working with the City of London Police.

In his role at Securitas, Slade has led multiple client sites through cultural change, innovation and commercial growth across the last 16 years. Having long supported the City Security Council, he’s highly motivated by the London Group’s crucial role in supporting the Emergency Services during major incidents. Indeed, Slade is passionate about progressing such work through his new leadership position.

Known for his ‘people-first’ leadership style, Slade harbours upwards of 22 years’ worth of experience in the domains of security operations and strategic partnerships, earning a reputation for trust, collaboration and customer focus. He has also served as an executive sponsor for major global, European and UK accounts, ensuring aligned priorities and shared success for clients and partners.

The City Security Council’s key objective is to foster collaborative partnerships between city-based security companies and the City of London Police in a bid to provide support whenever there’s a major incident, crisis or significant event affecting the City of London.

Resilience stems from unity

Commenting on his pro bono appointment, Daniel Slade informed Security Matters: “I’m honoured to take on this role with the City Security Council. I have always believed that resilience stems from unity, and I look forward to working with our partners on strengthening security, supporting our communities and enhancing public confidence across London.”

Slade added: “I’ve supported the City Security Council for some time now. The organisation drives true collaboration across security businesses within the City of London, which is an important support driver for the Emergency Services.”

Evolving remit

Since its inception, the City Security Council has grown considerably in membership and its remit has also evolved, with membership growing beyond the City of London to include any UK-based security company that’s Approved Contractor Scheme registered or working towards the relevant British Standard.

The City Security Council is now recognised as a leading and authoritative voice of the security industry and one that represents the interests of thousands of security officers.
