THE WINNERS of the third edition of the Tackling Economic Crime Awards (TECAs) were announced on Monday 6 December during a virtual awards ceremony where representatives from across the financial crime prevention sector tuned in live to celebrate the outstanding achievements of all this year’s finalists and winners.
Professor Martin Gill CSyP FSyI, founder of the TECAs – for which Security Matters once again served as Official Lead Media Partner – hosted the awards ceremony with assistance from Alan Dedicoat (known to many of you as ‘The Voice of the Balls’ on the National Lottery), as well as various sponsors and judges.
In his opening address, Gill noted that the past 18 months had provided both challenges and opportunities for the sector, with 2021 witnessing the most entries since the inception of the TECAs three years ago. This fact alone clearly demonstrates the excellent work that’s taking place in the fight against all forms of economic criminality.
Commissioner Ian Dyson QPM of the City of London Police made a guest appearance whereupon he reflected on his time as a chief officer lead on the topic of economic crime pending his imminent retirement from policing.
As always, the winners of the TECAs were selected by an independent panel of judges and the awards presented in 12 categories to a deserving array of public, private and third sector organisations and individuals.
