ACCESS CONTROL solutions specialist Paxton has heralded a hugely successful 2023 edition of The Security Event, the Nineteen Group-organised exhibition that ran at the NEC in Birmingham from 25-27 April, and for which Security Matters served as Lead Media Partner.
Paxton welcomed “hundreds” of security professionals to Stand K60 in Hall 4. There was plenty of networking thanks to attending security installers and integrators who received real-time feedback and benefited from live demos of the latest Paxton technology.
The company specialises in the development of access control systems for the mid-market (eg the education, healthcare, retail, leisure, commercial and public sectors), in turn delivering security solutions suitable for a wide range of sites and requirements. At present, around 30,000 buildings are secured by Paxton on a global basis each year.
The Security Event 2023 afforded Paxton the ideal opportunity to preview an exciting addition to its product range, namely the Paxton Entry app. The brand new app is set to launch later this year. Paxton took the opportunity to showcase its functionally across the three days of the NEC show.
Positive feedback
Commenting on the company’s positive experience at The Security Event, Adam Stroud (Paxton’s CEO) enthused: “It’s great to be here to show customers innovations like our new Entry app that works with our own door entry products, allowing smart phones to be used in place of a monitor. The feedback from our customers so far has been great. We cannot wait to make the app available to them.”
Dan Drayton, divisional director of sales for the business in the EMEA region, noted: “Paxton is a brand that has been built on taking feedback directly from customers. We really enjoy the opportunity to engage face-to-face with our customers and hear their opinions of our products and systems.”
On such customer is Nathan Lee from MTN Fire and Security, who has gained years of experience from installing Paxton products. Lee stated: “I’ve used the majority of Paxton’s products and have found them to be rock solid. They work well. Our own end user customers love them, while engineers love installing them. They’re good and reliable solutions.”
Robert Charnock from 24/7 Fire and Security Protection Ltd shared his experiences about engagement with members of the Paxton technical support team. “The support team members always answer the phone within a couple of rings and I always receive a response. The team members are absolutely amazing. I never feel as supported elsewhere.”
View from end users
Members of the Paxton team on site at the NEC also heard from end users, among them Jamie Livingston from The de Ferrers Trust (a group of seven schools in Staffordshire that have adopted the Net2 access control solution).
Livingston explained: “Net2 is simple to install and navigate. Our central IT network managers can very easily manage the system and amend things. We can roll-out in-house training for those teams that use the Net2 system such that they can then easily add users and change settings. We find it a very user-friendly system to have on site.”
Livingston was interested to see Paxton10 on Stand K60. This is Paxton’s combined access control and video management system. “I think it’s an interesting system,” stated Livingston. “The design looks really modern. I like the integration of video management. We are looking into installing Paxton10.”
Dan Drayton concluded: “We’re known for the success of Net2 and have been for a long time now, but we’ve also developed some other great products such as Paxton10, Entry and PaxLock. This is why we offer free installer training. By doing so, we help our customers to learn more about what our products can do and how we can grow together.”
