ENTERPRISE PHYSICAL security software specialist Genetec has announced the appointment of Nicholas Smith as the company’s new regional sales director for the UK and Ireland.
With more than 28 years of experience in the IT and security sectors, including the last eight years at Genetec, Smith has been instrumental in growing revenue and building long-term relationships with customers, partners and stakeholders across high-growth industries.
In his new role, Smith will lead the company’s regional market strategy, prioritising the development and expansion of Genetec’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offer. As the physical security industry undergoes a significant transition from on-premises to hybrid-cloud deployments, Smith’s input is going to be crucial for driving business growth.
Commenting on his appointment, Smith said: “I’m honoured to lead Genetec’s operations in the UK and Ireland. While my appointment marks a new chapter, our commitment to our users, our channel and our partners remains unchanged. My focus is on accelerating the growth of our SaaS-based offer and ensuring we continue to predict and meet the evolving needs of our customers.”
Before joining Genetec, Smith served as business development manager for MOBOTIX, the manufacturer of premium-quality intelligent IP video systems. He has also held senior positions at Bosch Security Systems and with SISYS Ltd (a UTC company), where he spearheaded business development initiatives.
