THE NATIONAL Security Inspectorate (NSI) has announced the appointment of Richard Fogelman as its new CEO effective from Wednesday 1 March 2023, with current CEO Richard Jenkins set to leave the Inspectorate after leading the organisation with great skill and achieving much success across the last nine years.
Fogelman boasts more than 15 years’ management expertise, including that fashioned during almost a decade spent as the CEO of a leading UK charity. He holds a law degree and has prior experience of London’s economic markets, having worked at numerous banks and financial firms, before embarking on a spell in the commercial world of property operations and management.
Most recently, he was CEO of Grief Encounter, the aforementioned national charity focused on supporting bereaved young people. During his time there, Fogelman restructured the business, established a national Helpline serving over 10,000 callers annually and drove revenue growth from £480,000 in 2013 to £3.01 million in 2021.
Third party certification
Commenting on his appointment, Fogelman informed Security Matters:“It’s a privilege to be appointed as CEO of the NSI. I’m thrilled to be joining a very talented and enthusiastic team and very much looking forward to drawing upon my experience to further promote the value of security and fire safety-related third party certification both within these two sectors and more widely to commercial buyers, the public sector, specifiers and homeowners.”
Fogelman added: “Ever-changing technology, increasing customer expectations and new and more stringent standards provide an exciting opportunity for development that I’m particularly excited to begin shaping.”
Supporting stakeholders
Richard Jenkins responded: “I’m delighted to welcome Richard to the organisation, fully confident in the knowledge that his wealth of experience will ensure he’s well placed to maintain and further leverage the NSI’s mission, vision and expertise as it continues to support stakeholders, and the professional security and fire safety sectors, in raising standards that serve the interests of protecting people, property and wider public safety.”
The NSI delivers a robust continuous audit regime of approved companies through the diligent efforts of a dedicated team of in-house experts to verify compliance with relevant British and European Standards, Codes of Practice and certification schemes orchestrated by industry bodies and associations.
Buyers who choose to contract with NSI approved businesses can be assured of security and fire safety services being delivered to the highest standards by companies wholly committed to quality and continual improvement.
