VIDEO SURVEILLANCE specialist Hanwha Vision has announced an integration between its PTZ PLUS camera line and Navtech Radar’s AdvanceGuard radar platform. This collaboration delivers a high-value and unified perimeter protection solution that enhances security outcomes, boosts operator efficiency and improves risk management across extensive and complex sites.
The integration of Navtech AdvanceGuard with Hanwha Vision’s PTZ PLUS cameras, including the XNP-6400RW and XNP-C6403RW models, unifies radar and video into a single automated workflow.
Navtech AdvanceGuard provides 360-degree high-resolution radar coverage up to a 5 km radius per sensor, offering long-range detection that can outperform traditional perimeter sensors and ensure continuous coverage and reliable detection in inclement weather or the hours of darkness.
When a radar-defined rule is breached, AdvanceGuard instantly directs the PTZ camera using precise target co-ordinates, thereby ensuring uninterrupted visual tracking without the need for manual operator control. This accelerates threat verification and enables organisations to secure expansive perimeters without increasing their monitoring resources.
The integrated solution is ideal for critical and complex sites, such as airports and ports, where there are extensive perimeters to monitor. It also reduces the need for dense camera networks, lowering capital expenditure and ongoing maintenance demands.
Increased operational efficiency
Advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) features in the XNP-6400RW and XNP-C6403RW further improve operational efficiency. For instance, AI auto-tracking allows operators to enable a camera to lock on to and track a target with a single right-click. AI-powered video analytics classify people and vehicles, allowing operators to remain hands-free to manage other priorities, while always maintaining accurate and continuous surveillance.
False alarms are reduced using deep learning algorithms that filter out irrelevant information such as shadows, wildlife and wind-blown trees. This reduces operator fatigue, improves focus and ensures that security teams only respond to what are genuine threats.
Object classification also enhances post-event efficiency. Operators can quickly conduct smart forensic searches to locate specific people or vehicles, improving investigation times and supporting more effective incident resolution.
Intelligent analytics such as line crossing, area intrusion, loitering and appear/disappear events further streamline monitoring across sensitive zones.
Exciting development
John Lutz Boorman, head of product and marketing at Hanwha Vision Europe, said: “The Hanwha Vision and Navtech Radar integration is an exciting development for security leaders who require dependable, scalable and intelligent perimeter protection.”
He continued: “By uniting Hanwha Vision’s AI-powered cameras with Navtech’s radar precision, operators benefit from continuous situational awareness, while also improving their operational efficiency and streamlining workloads. Ultimately, helping organisations to strengthen the resilience of their large, critical and complex sites is a major benefit.”
