HKC SECURITY, the specialist manufacturer of intruder alarm solutions in the UK and Ireland, has appointed Gerard Riney as head of R&D, further strengthening the leadership team to help drive new product innovation.
Having spent over ten years in the security technology domain, Riney brings extensive knowledge in hardware design, embedded firmware, cloud infrastructure and connected security products to the role.
During his career, Riney has successfully brought multiple alarm system components to market and delivered seamless integrations with access control and mobile applications, all of which will prove vital to the development of new HKC products moving forward.
As head of R&D, Riney will oversee the full lifecycle of product development, from the initial concept to delivery and ongoing innovation. He will lead HKC’s engineering teams throughout the process, ensuring that both new and existing products continue to meet the evolving needs of installers and customers alike, while also maintaining the high quality and high standards synonymous with HKC.
Strategic goals
In addition, Riney will also work closely alongside other areas of the business to ensure R&D aligns with HKC’s commercial and strategic goals.
