Gallagher Security signposts NPSA compliance for T30 Keypad Reader

THE HIGH-Security T30 Keypad Reader developed by Gallagher Security has achieved approval under the National Protective Security Authority’s (NPSA) Readers and Keypads standard, further strengthening the company’s suite of NPSA-approved solutions for high-security environments.

The approval reinforces Gallagher Security’s commitment to developing security technologies that meet some of the world’s most rigorous physical and cyber security standards, while also expanding the company’s trusted high-security offering for customers across the UK and Europe.

Jason Hunter, high-security solutions manager for the UK and Ireland at Gallagher Security, firmly believes the approval is particularly significant for organisations operating within highly regulated sectors.

“NPSA approval is widely recognised as a benchmark for security excellence,” affirmed Hunter. “The High-Security T30 strengthens Gallagher Security’s ability to deliver trusted and end-to-end high-security solutions for Government, defence, Critical National Infrastructure and the utilities across the UK and Europe.”

Focused on protection

Sean Kelly, Gallagher Security’s product manager, has stated that the achievement reflects the award-winning global security manufacturer’s focus on helping organisations to protect their people, assets and operations against evolving security threats.

“Designed for sites where security cannot be compromised, the High-Security T30 has a nice form factor for situations that don’t require a screen,” noted Kelly. “The reader supports card and PIN authentication and has been engineered to deliver reliable performance in demanding environments.”

Kelly also said: “Achieving NPSA approval for the High-Security T30 is an important milestone for Gallagher Security and further validates the strength of our high-security portfolio. Organisations responsible for critical infrastructure and highly sensitive sites need confidence that their security solutions have been independently assessed against Government standards. This approval provides that assurance, while offering end users a resilient and high-performance reader solution.”

Credential technologies

The High-Security T30 supports MIFARE DESFire EV1, EV2 and EV3 credential technologies alongside secure HBUS communications and dedicated FIPS 140-3 cryptographic secure storage. It also supports legacy credential technologies such as MIFARE Classic and MIFARE Plus.

Built for challenging environments, the High-Security T30 features an IP68 environmental protection rating, IK09 impact protection rating, integrated rear optical tamper detection and a dedicated arming key with alarm zone status indication.

The High-Security T30 joins a growing list of Gallagher Security solutions recognised by the NPSA. The High-Security C7000 was awarded Automatic Access Control Systems (AACS) and Cyber Assurance of Physical Security Systems (CAPSS) approval in January 2026.

Physical and cyber security

Gallagher Security was also the first manufacturer to achieve both CAPSS 2021 and AACS 2022 approvals for its Command Centre and High-Security Controller 6000, duly demonstrating the company’s long-standing commitment to delivering solutions that meet the highest physical and cyber security requirements.

“We have a proven track record of protecting critical infrastructure, Government facilities and high-security sites globally,” concluded Jason Hunter. “Gallagher Security continues to invest in technologies that help organisations to create secure and resilient environments, while in parallel meeting evolving national security expectations.”
