THE BRITISH Security Industry Association (BSIA) has recognised the work of its members’ front line security officers across the UK during COVID-19 by announcing the regional Security Personnel Awards winners for 2021.
The BSIA’s regional Security Personnel Awards are part of the Trade Association’s national British Security Awards, the ceremony for which will be taking place on 30 June in central London. All regional winners will now go forward as national finalists.
For over 20 years, the Security Personnel Awards – kindly sponsored as always by Camberford Underwriting – have recognised the talent, dedication, skill and bravery exhibited by security personnel in their roles. In 2021, the five awards categories – namely Best Newcomer, Best Team, Outstanding Act, Service to the Customer and Security Manager of the Year – received a record number of entries, all of them positive examples of the work security officers have undertaken during the last 12 months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mike Reddington, CEO of the BSIA, commented: “Every year, the BSIA receives details of the many outstanding examples of great work our member companies’ security officers carry out in the course of their duties. This year, a record number of nominations were sent to us from right across the UK, each of them duly highlighting the professionalism, customer service skills and outstanding acts exhibited during what has been an especially challenging year for those front line officers in keeping people, places and property safe.”
Reddington added: “This year’s regional winners should be immensely proud of their achievements. We wish them the very best of luck as they now go forward to the national finals of the British Security Awards in June.”
