barox forges new technology partnership with Network Optix

BAROX KOMMUNIKATION AG has launched a new technology partnership with Network Optix, which represents the latest addition to the former’s already extensive integration portfolio featuring market-leading VMS and PSIM providers.

The new integration was officially launched at The Security Event, which ran from 8-10 April at the NEC in Birmingham and is “set to transform” the management and support of Nx Witness video networks.

On Stand J50 in Hall 5, Nx Witness users had the opportunity to fully explore the depth of integration capabilities. Key features include extensive diagnostics, PoE management, CPU temperature analysis and network health monitoring, all presented within a user-friendly and intuitive GUI.

This addition to the barox portfolio is the latest in the extensive range of plug-ins available from the business, which manufactures Ethernet switches designed specifically for the demands of IP video networks.

Technology partners

Nx Witness was showcased alongside systems from barox’s established technology partners: Milestone, Genetec and ISM. Thanks to an advanced integration capability and cyber features, as well as sophisticated network diagnostic tools, visitors learned why barox switches are the “solution of choice” for public space, Critical National Infrastructure, the utilities, transport hubs, Data Centres, Government, military, oil and gas and other high security applications.

Thanks to barox’s Ethernet switch integration, enhanced diagnostic data showing the status of cameras and switches on a graphical chart enables the fast pinpointing of network or device issues. Faults and outages can be diagnosed remotely. For example, if a network camera fails to respond, barox switches can be used to autonomously send a re-boot command, saving on device downtime and, in many cases, bringing a device back online/resolving the issue with no engineer involvement.

In the case of a security breach, devices can be disabled at the end user level to maintain operation, while full remote control of PoE on ports allows users to re-set or switch them off if required. This advanced capability “sets barox apart” from other network equipment manufacturers in the management of high security video surveillance networks.

Ethernet switch line-up

In addition to the company’s integration capabilities, barox also used The Security Event as a platform to introduce the latest additions to its Ethernet switch line-up, along with some “game-changing” new remote re-boot features on the media converter range.

Sarah Moss, sales manager for the UK and Ireland at barox, stated: “The Security Event provided an incredible opportunity for us to connect with our amazing customers, who were able to witness first-hand how our latest switch products and technology partnerships are reshaping the future of the industry.”
