AJAX SYSTEMS hosted its seventh Ajax Special Event in Frankfurt on 21 November. Delivered under the theme ‘Dare to be First’, the company announced the introduction of no fewer than 55 new devices.
Highlights included the unveiling of the “world’s first” wireless Grade 3 solution and the Superior MegaHub supporting up to 999 devices. New Superior cameras for high-profile projects, as well as the expanded Baseline outdoor portfolio and other key innovations, were also introduced.
The detailed presentation drew a huge online audience and gathered industry professionals offline across 35 countries.
Wireless technology now offers not only reliability comparable to wired systems, but also certified compliance with the world’s strictest security standards. The new wireless Grade 3 solution includes everything needed to protect high-risk sites of any scale: motion and opening detectors, keypads, sirens, panic buttons, range extenders, integration modules and the control panel (Superior Hub G3 Jeweller). This means faster, more flexible and cheaper installation of bank-grade security.
Ajax Systems’ wireless Grade 3 devices communicate over Superior Jeweller, a new generation radio technology that “sets the benchmark” for range, stability and sabotage resistance.
Video surveillance
The Ajax video surveillance line-up is divided into two product lines: Baseline and Superior. In the Baseline portfolio, the company has introduced HLVF cameras with a motorised varifocal lens and autofocus, enabling flexible zoom for capturing details or wider coverage.
The new NVR H2D Series supports two hard drives for greater storage capacity, while two recording options (ie Redundancy mode and Split mode) provide reliable back-up. PoE models allow the direct connection of up to 16 cameras.
For the Superior video line, Superior HLVF cameras with hybrid illumination and an adjustable field of view have been announced. Thanks to an improved CMOS sensor and motorised P-Iris lens, the cameras deliver clear and detailed footage no matter what the lighting scenario is on-site. The cameras feature two-way audio and a junction box with a built-in speaker for active deterrence.
Superior NVRs, the first Ajax NVRs with built-in Artificial Intelligence (AI), can share intelligence with connected third party cameras. They support up to 32 channels, store up to 24 TB of footage on each of two hard drives and can play back four 4K streams simultaneously. The improved onboard AI accuracy enables exclusive AI features in the Superior product line.
In the spotlight at the presentation was the Superior MegaHub: the most powerful Ajax hub yet. It supports up to 999 wired or wireless devices in any combination and has no limit on sirens. As a Grade 3 device, it’s ready to cover the most demanding sites and deliver certified sabotage protection. The Superior MegaHub supports 100 groups, 100 automation scenarios and 1,000 users. Shopping Centres, business centres, factories, logistics sites and large warehouses can be protected with a single control panel.
Superior Hub Hybrid 2
Yet another addition to project-grade hubs is the Superior Hub Hybrid 2. Supporting up to 250 devices with no limit on sirens, 25 security groups, 64 automation scenarios and 100 users, the Hybrid 2 doubles the capacity of its predecessor. The device enables PROs to scale from medium to large facilities, leveraging the benefits of a Grade 3-certified hybrid system.
Ajax Systems has also expanded its outdoor Baseline portfolio with two curtain-type motion detectors. Curtain Outdoor Mini Jeweller is designed to fit narrow spaces such as windows or doors and expose intruders early before any damage occurs. The device has no blind spots and provides accurate detection in two modes: Main and Pet.
CurtainCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller is the very first Ajax outdoor curtain-type detector with a photo camera for alarm verification. Thanks to a pre-alarm feature relying on PIR and K-band sensors, the detector creates an invisible boundary to a restricted area and captures intruders the moment they step inside the premises.
Meanwhile, Hub BP Jeweller (an Ajax hub that operates entirely on batteries) has been afforded an upgrade. It now runs for up to four years on a single battery in the battery power saver mode, which makes it a perfect fit for sites lacking power, a stable connection or on-site staff.
Continuing to evolve
Ajax Services continue to evolve, turning one-time installations into recurring income through subscriptions. Today, PROs can enhance the Ajax hardware set-up with:
*Ajax SIM for stable ‘out-of-the-box’ connectivity
*Ajax Ultra DP for effortless dual-path signalling and ironclad alarm delivery
*Ajax Cloud Storage: a secure cloud-based archive for DoorBell and IndoorCam footage
*Ajax Photo Mode for photo alarm verification using Ajax cameras in third party monitoring software
Now, PROs can activate Ajax Services with a card payment directly in Ajax PRO: Tool for Engineers. This alternative activation method has already been released in dozens of countries for Ajax SIM and Ajax Cloud Storage and will continue rolling out globally by the end of the year. Within the same period, installers will also be afforded an option to give end users the right to pay for Ajax Services in their own Ajax app.
Certified product line
Ajax Systems is taking on the challenge to transform one of the most demanding safety fields by introducing the EN54 Line: a fully wireless commercial fire detection and alarm system. Fast installation, zero programming and native apps for on-site or remote control ensure that projects are completed within hours, not days.
