‘Unmasking Cloud Technologies’ event signposted by CNI Security Group

BUILDING ON its popular series of integrated high-security solutions events, the CNI Security Group has announced the free-to-attend ‘Unmasking Cloud Technologies’ event, which is to be held at the historic Brands Hatch motor racing circuit on Friday 21 July. Registration begins at 9.30 am.

Aimed at end users, consultants and system designers operating in the Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) space, the event will focus on dispelling some of the myths about cloud-based technologies. Delegates will be able to learn more about the technologies involved how they are currently being deployed within some of the highest-level security applications in the UK.

Alongside a new educational seminar format, security industry manufacturers including barox, ISM, Harper Chalice and Nedap are going to be joined by guest manufacturer Motorola Solutions in showcasing a range of the very latest in cutting-edge CNI/National Protective Security Authority (NPSA) technologies suitable for deployment at high-security sites serving the utilities sector, airports and prisons, etc.

The technologies featured include surveillance cameras, analytics, access control, perimeter intrusion detection systems, microwave detection, radar, industrial switches and Physical Security Information Management/VMS solutions. There’s going to be a variety of systems on display which are the only NPSA-approved solution in their class.

CNI Security Group member Harper Chalice’s recently forged alliance with Sorhea further enhances the Group’s product offer for the CNI space.

Seminar topics

Throughout the morning, the seminars will be delivered by recognised experts and cover essential subjects. Session titles include ‘Cloud benefits and drawbacks’, ‘How cloud products are designed with cyber security built-in’, ‘Providing Government with cloud services’ and ‘Delivering cloud solutions’. The seminars conclude with Andrew Sieradzki (Group director for security at Buro Happold) speaking on ‘How Critical National Infrastructure is using the cloud for security’.

An open panel Q&A session concludes the morning presentations. Post-luncheon, delegates will be afforded the opportunity to visit the BMW TAS racing garage.

New format

Sara Fisher, chair of the CNI Security Group, informed Security Matters: “Following on from the great success of our previous events, the CNI Security Group is really excited to launch this rnew format, which further strengthens its position as the educational forum of choice for CNI stakeholders.”

Fisher continued: “The emphasis is now firmly focused on debating the big security questions, reviewing the latest technologies, hearing directly from end users about their experiences of deployment in real use case scenarios and, of course, demonstrating end-to-end and integrated security solutions which meet the resilience and qualification credentials required for CNI and other high-security applications.”
