THE SECURITY Institute’s Insider Risk Conference, held on 16 September at Glasgow Caledonian University, brought together leading voices from academia, Government and industry to address the growing challenges of insider risk and organisational resilience.
Hosted in The Lantern at the Annie Lennox Building, the one-day event delivered a rich programme of keynote presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities. The conference was formally opened by Professor Shirley Rate, Dean of the Glasgow School for Business and Society at Glasgow Caledonian University, and Sarah Austerberry CSyP FSyI (interim CEO of The Security Institute).
The event welcomed a distinguished line-up of speakers, including:

Expert-led sessions
Across a series of expert-led sessions, conference explored critical themes including managing non-malicious insiders, emerging threats within the academic sector, effective insider threat strategies and addressing corruption risks within policing.
The programme culminated in an engaging panel discussion moderated by Sarah Austerberry, during which delegates posed questions directly to experts and gained practical insights on tackling insider risk across diverse sectors.
Beyond its thought-provoking content, the Insider Risk Conference offered extensive opportunities for professional networking. Delegates participated in structured breaks, a networking lunch and a closing drinks reception designed to foster collaboration between members and non-members alike.
