SECURITY SOLUTIONS manufacturer Gallagher Security has announced the appointment of Spencer Marshall as executive vice-president for the UK and Europe. Marshall will now lead the entire Gallagher Security business in these regions, as well as being a member of the global executive team to help develop and drive strategy.
Marshall is “thrilled” to be joining the Gallagher team at such a pivotal time as the business continues to expand its footprint across both the UK and European markets with a keen focus on unlocking more value for its customers through the power of its people and innovative technology solutions.
He brings to the role 25 years’ worth of experience in the electronic security industry, coming to Gallagher Security after 18 years at HID Global, where he most recently served as head of the European region.
Building relationships
Marshall commented: “Throughout my career, I’ve thrived when adapting and evolving alongside economic and technological advancements. I’ve found that building successful working relationships and fostering collaboration is key. Working across various countries and cultures has broadened my perspective, allowing me to identify new opportunities and expand my network.”
He added: “I’m delighted to bring my knowledge and skills to the Gallagher UK and Europe team. Gallagher has built a great brand within the industry and it’s exciting to be part of a company where I can continue to make an impact.”
Sharing Gallagher’s commitment to customer centricity and the importance of building and fostering strong partnerships, Marshall went on to state: “I’m very much focused on driving both regional team success and supporting the wider global Gallagher team, championing strategic initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency, supporting company culture and fostering talent by mentoring and sharing knowledge.”
Unlocking greater value
Gallagher Security’s CEO Mark Junge explained: “It’s an exciting time for Gallagher globally. We’re delighted to appoint a leader of Spencer’s calibre to our global executive team. By combining our products with the unique skills of our people, we’re unlocking greater value for our customers. We’re on a pathway of transformation to best serve them in the most effective and profitable ways.”
Junge concluded: “The security industry should be known not just for its protection capabilities, but also for its expanded superpower: making it easier for organisations to solve the problems that cost them time and money.”
Marshall suggests that open communication and transparency are pivotal to a team's success. “You must be able to trust your team. Empowerment is fundamental to a well-functioning team. I like to lead by example, by rolling up my sleeves and being involved with the team. That forges cohesiveness. I believe that inspirational leaders can motivate a team to become results-driven. By recognition of their results, they will feel valued and inspired.”
