Skills for Security signs multi-year partnership with Nineteen Group

SKILLS FOR Security – itself the UK’s leading fire and security apprenticeship training provider – has announced a three-year partnership with Nineteen Group in relation to the latter’s portfolio of hugely successful security events.

The new partnership reflects Skills for Security’s strategy and objective of encouraging more young people to pursue careers in security. Skills for Security will make its debut at The Security Event (for which Security Matters serves as Lead Media Partner) and Professional Security Officer Live, which run from 25-27 April 2023 at the NEC in Birmingham.

The Security Event is the UK’s established and award-winning commercial, enterprise and domestic security-focused event. Launching in 2023, Professional Security Officer Live will coincide with The Security Event to extend the latter’s offer to encompass the entire security buying chain, from installers, integrators and consultants through to end users and security guarding businesses and professionals.

Hosting 300-plus world-leading manufacturers and security suppliers as well as a world-class content programme, The Security Event and Professional Security Officer Live will be the “largest and most notable” event proposition in the security sector for 2023.

As part of Nineteen Group’s commitment to champion and increase employee opportunities for young people, a series of educational workshops and initiatives and live competitions will be hosted at the shows, in addition to a collaborative networking hub.

Strong portfolio

David Scott, managing director of Skills for Security, commented: “Skills for Security is delighted to partner with Nineteen Group. Across time, Nineteen Group has built a strong portfolio of events that truly aligns with our mission to improve the skills and standards for apprentices in the security sector. It’s now absolutely crucial that we continue to collaborate with event organisers and partners such as Nineteen Group who share our passion for driving forward apprentices and the skills agenda.”

Tristan Norman, Group director at the Nineteen Group, responded: “We are thrilled that Skills for Security has chosen our shows as the leading platform to inspire and engage young people to be ‘career ready’ for the security world. Our events aim to help build the core skills and tools that individuals need to succeed in work and life. This partnership will bring a new curriculum to the shows at the NEC. The Security Event and Professional Security Officer Live are very well placed to unlock the potential that’s there and highlight the career opportunities available for the future.”

The Security Event and Professional Security Officer Live are part of the Safety and Security Event Series run by Nineteen Group, which also includes The National Cyber Security Show, The Fire Safety Event, The Health and Safety Event and The Workplace Event. Dedicated to the safety and security of people, places and assets, the portfolio of events will take place on 25-27 April 2023 at the NEC in Birmingham.
