SKILLS FOR Security, the dedicated provider of apprenticeships and commercial training in the security and fire business sectors, has launched Skills On-Demand, the organisation’s new online learning platform.
Skills On-Demand is purpose-designed to deliver comprehensive, on-demand educational resources to professionals operating in the security and fire safety sectors. The portal features a range of training courses across various security and fire disciplines. With new content being added on a monthly basis, users will have instant access to the latest industry knowledge and Best Practice advice.
The platform realises an intuitive and interactive user experience, allowing learners to browse Skills for Security’s online catalogues and self-enrol for their desired courses and competencies. Recommended courses are displayed based on previous learning experience.
Initially aimed at security and fire safety system engineers, surveyors, designers and managers, the platform will continually grow with new content and eventually encompass additional sectors.
The platform provides access to a wide range of courses in areas such as management and leadership, a manufacturer hub with product-specific courses and a forum that enables collaboration between users and the team at Skills for Security.
Forefront of developments
Darrell Gilmour, director of technical training at Skills for Security, explained: “The platform is a ‘first’ for the sector and follows a significant period of R&D in collaboration with our employers and sponsors. We’re confident Skills On-Demand will provide the perfect way in which users can remain at the forefront of sector developments, helping to raise standards and professionalism.”
David Scott, managing director at Skills for Security, added: “We’re all extremely excited and proud to launch Skills On-Demand. We truly believe that the platform will help so many working in the sector, while also perfectly complementing our apprenticeship offer. I would encourage anyone responsible for managing teams, or individuals who are looking to self-develop, to check out Skills On-Demand.”
