INTEGRATED SECURITY solutions specialist TDSi has gained Cyber Essentials certification, which demonstrates the company’s dedication to fully securing its operations as well as its products and services.
Supported by the UK Government through the National Cyber Security Centre, Cyber Essentials helps any size or type of organisation to protect itself and those that rely on it from a range of common and potentially dangerous cyber attacks and threats.
In short, Cyber Essentials certification delivers quantifiable proof that an organisation is upholding the necessary standards to operate safely in a cyber-centric world.
TDSi completed the certification through an assessment conducted by the IASME Corporation. The process involved TDSi demonstrating the cyber security posture of its entire IT infrastructure, including on-site systems, Bring Your Own Device elements, cloud-based systems and externally managed IT services, along with evidencing appropriate password management, malware protection and security updates management.
Customers and partners
Alex Rumsey, sales director at TDSi, commented: “Certification from Cyber Essentials provides further assurance for our customers and partners alike that TDSi’s IT infrastructure meets the strictest industry standards. Although this is relevant for every organisation with whom we work with, it’s particularly important for our strategic governmental and public sector customers, where a clear audit trail of cyber security is essential.”
Rumsey added: “We’re proud to share our certification and to realise further peace of mind that, as a security manufacturer, our own systems are just as secure as those that we produce and sell.”
He continued: “The certification process is designed to assess every facet of your IT infrastructure, from the devices you use for daily communications right through to servers and your core IT systems. No part of your IT infrastructure is fully safe and secure unless all of it is. On that basis, the certification process is necessarily thorough to ensure the business under scrutiny has full confidence in its systems before sharing them with all other stakeholders.”
Embellishing this point, Rumsey observed: “Naturally, we already knew our IT infrastructure and practices were up to scratch, but we wanted the extra third party assurance that Cyber Essentials certification demonstrates to the rest of the world. We are living in an age where cyber security is just as vital as physical security, so we are delighted to demonstrate that TDSi is completely dependable as a top tier security company which practices what it preaches.”
Cyber Essentials Plus
Now that Cyber Essentials certification has been approved, TDSi plans to complete Cyber Essentials Plus certification later on in 2022. This enhanced level of certification is designed to meet more stringent criteria and features an in-person technical audit conducted by an independent assessor.
