PACOM, THE provider of access control and security management solutions, is set to welcome visitors to The Security Event at the NEC in Birmingham where the company will preview its next generation cloud-based platform.
On Stand J60 in Hall 4 between 25-27 April, PACOM’s team of technical experts will be on hand to show visitors how this next generation software solution will offer the flexibility, scalability, affordability and functionality demanded by today’s end user organisations.
“The Security Event provides the perfect opportunity for us to preview our next generation PACOM solution and engage with our valued integration partners and end users,” explained Richard Joslin, senior director of sales. “This solution is a centrally controlled and integrated security management platform that’s intelligent, user friendly and highly cost-effective. It’s a true game-changer and a great fit for those customers with single sites, hundreds of sites or large campus environments.”
The culmination of a significant R&D programme, the solution has been designed to redefine what’s possible in security integration management, without any legacy restrictions. It also extends its functionality beyond security by acting as an interface with the Internet of Things (IoT). By accessing, storing and processing data from the smart IoT sensors found in intrusion detection, access control, audio, video and building management systems, PACOM’s solution is able to deliver valuable business intelligence, operational insights and efficiencies.
Data aggregation
Leveraging the PACOM security system infrastructure, data from hundreds of locations can be aggregated and analysed by the system or supplied to other corporate systems. For example, a large-scale customer in Europe is using the PACOM system integration to collect electrical usage data from all locations and supply it to a corporate system that’s tracking green initiatives.
By offering more than just ‘security’, the solution provides complete control over the entire building services ecosystem and can scale up and down as required. It provides existing PACOM system users with an opportunity to migrate to the solution quickly and easily via a sustainable upgrade path that can be implemented based on the client’s schedule. This renders the solution ideal for applications such as banking and finance, as well as uses in other verticals including logistics and warehousing, the commercial environment, critical infrastructure and multi-site retail locations.
The cloud is exerting a huge impact on the security industry, with end users now able to harness the power, flexibility and functionality it facilitates. This solution from PACOM is fully cloud-enabled and a -customisable dashboard can be accessed via any Internet-connected desktop PC or smart phone.
Assigning credentials
Users can view live and recorded video from cloud cameras, bookmark cameras for quick and easy access from the main dashboard, check camera health status, set profiles and permissions, assign credentials, set rules, export footage clips and either arm or disarm devices – at any time, in any place. Set-up can be configured for a purely on-premise solution or even in a hybrid configuration that offers the best of both worlds.
“We’re tremendously excited about the next generation of PACOM and this solution’s ability to integrate a variety of building services over one integrated security management platform,” concluded Richard Joslin. “PACOM is working to lead the way in the design, manufacture and installation of cutting-edge security systems. On Stand J60 in Hall 4 at the NEC, we’ll be explaining more about how we are able to transform the operational effectiveness of a diverse range of built environments.”
