OCS, THE provider of integrated security services, has successfully provided extensive security services at the European Political Community meeting held on 18 July at Blenheim Palace.
The European Political Community meeting, which was hosted by the newly elected Prime Minister Keir Starmer, brought together around 50 leaders from across Europe to discuss shared challenges, among them Ukraine and illegal migration.
OCS implemented a robust security plan for the event, which included security guarding duties, access control, the installation of security technology, security system monitoring and airport-style security scanning.
A notable feature was the set-up of seven security scanning lanes, in fact, all of them operated by OCS, along with 80 static CCTV cameras, two Control Rooms with video walls, 60 WASP systems, 30 rapid deployment CCTV towers, 24/7 on-site support and the establishment of a communications network with radios and base stations.
Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the birthplace and ancestral home of former Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill.
OCS was honoured to be a part of this significant event and fully committed to ensuring the highest level of security for all attendees.
Extensive services
Steven Moore, OCS UK’s managing director for security, observed: “I’m immensely proud of our team’s successful execution of extensive security services at the European Political Community meeting held at Blenheim Palace. We remain wholly dedicated to ensuring the safety of all attendees at such significant gatherings.”
Previous European Political Community meetings were held in Prague, Czechia (in September 2022), Chisinau, Moldova (June 2023) and Granada, Spain (October 2023).
In Granada, the UK led discussions on Artificial Intelligence and illegal migration. In Moldova, the focus was on supporting the host country in the face of Russian hybrid threats, as well as building energy resilience.
At the first European Political Community meeting held in Prague, talks centred around Putin’s invasion of Ukraine and the need for Europe to stand united against Russian aggression.
OCS UK and Ireland has a turnover of £1.7 billion, employing 50,000 colleagues who deliver innovative and award-winning services to the private and public sectors. For more information visit https://www.ocs.com/uk/
