FAST-GROWING Midlands security company MAN Commercial Protection (which provides security guarding, concierge services, CCTV monitoring, key holding and large-scale event support) has signed a three-year deal with National League club Solihull Moors FC to provide security for all of the latter’s 23 home league games and cup competition outings.
The company will create 30 new part-time roles for stewards, as well as providing specialist Security Industry Authority-licensed response teams, CCTV Control Room operators, supervisors and an event manager.
Kicking-off with the Birmingham City FC home friendly match on 16 July for The Arthur Cup, the partnership will also explore how the two organisations can work together to raise money for the excellent Solihull Moors Foundation.
Rich history
“We have a rich history of supporting high-profile boxing and sporting events, but have never before entered into a partnership with a football club so it’s fitting that the first one is with our hometown club Solihull Moors,” explained Iain McCallister, CEO and founder of MAN Commercial Protection.
McCallister continued: “The club’s chair Darryl Eales and I have known each other for some time and have started to forge closer ties through our joint involvement with the Solihull Chamber of Commerce. We talked about next season’s security arrangements and how we would look after it, including some high-profile fixtures with big away followings. In short, the partnership makes perfect sense.”
McCallister added: “We are keeping training local, too, with the 30 new part-time stewards we’re recruiting set to complete their Stewarding NVQ Level 2 training at Solihull College.”
Commercial deal
In addition to security services, MAN Commercial Protection has agreed a three-year commercial deal with ‘The Moors’, becoming sponsor of the East Stand, which will be renamed ‘The MAN Commercial Protection Stand’ in time for the beginning of the 2025-2026 season.
Importantly, there’s a common desire from both parties to explore how they can use each other’s strengths and reputation to raise money for the Solihull Moors Foundation, which engages disadvantaged individuals and groups in structured activities that improve well-being, social cohesion and life opportunities.
This includes empowering young people with the skills and confidence to gain employment, reducing social isolation through more support networks and improving mental health thanks to sports, education and mentoring.
The Solihull Moors Foundation is also keen to use the facilities at Damson Park to deliver safe and inclusive spaces for vulnerable individuals.
Different skills
Darryl Eales observed: “We are really pleased to appoint local company MAN Commercial Protection as our ‘Official Safety and Security Partner’. The company brings so many different skills and so much big event experience to the table and is passionate about Solihull and the areas we serve. This was really important for us.”
Eales concluded: “Together, I believe that we can have an even bigger impact on the place we both call ‘home’.”
