THE LOSS Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) is set to unveil its groundbreaking Live Testing Lab at The Security Event, which runs from 30 April through to 2 May 2024 at the NEC in Birmingham (and for which Security Matters is once again serving as Lead Media Partner).
The LPCB Live Testing Lab affords visitors a unique opportunity to witness a team of professional forced entry specialists engaging with a diverse range of physical security products. From windows to fencing and door sets, the live demonstrations will showcase the resilience and effectiveness of these products in the face of simulated intrusion scenarios.
In addition to the Live Testing Lab, the LPCB has collaborated with industry partners to present the latest advancements in physical perimeter protection. Visitors can explore cutting-edge solutions, among them bollards, barriers, gates, fencing and locking systems.
As a globally recognised third party certification body for security and fire safety-related products and services, the LPCB boasts a storied history dating back to the 1880s. Delivered by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), the UK’s leading independent test and certification authority for security, fire and the built environment, LPCB certification is synonymous with excellence. The certification process itself involves rigorous testing, evaluation and quality audit procedures to ensure that approved products deliver proven levels of protection.
Commenting on this development, Richard Flint (technical and commercial lead for physical security at the BRE) stated: “We are thrilled to introduce the LPCB’s Live Testing Lab, wherein we can share our unparalleled knowledge and experience with delegates. It’s a great opportunity for individuals interested in forced entry protection to witness live attack tests and gain first-hand insight into the differences between certified and uncertified products.”
Flint added: “The backing we’ve received from both of the esteemed manufacturers exhibiting in the Live Testing Lab and The Security Event team at the Nineteen Group has been crucial in making this experience possible.”
Complete security spectrum
Leading global manufacturers of physical and perimeter security products and solutions have already confirmed their participation at The Security Event 2024, with available stand space very close to being completely sold-out.
Tristan Norman, Group event director at the Nineteen Group, informed Security Matters: “The Security Event is extremely proud to welcome LPCB and its Live Testing Lab to the show in 2024. This collaboration reflects our ongoing commitment to showcase the complete security spectrum, filling the halls at the NEC with innovative security solutions and technologies that are evolving to meet the security landscape of the future.”
Norman conrinued: “A substantial number of exhibitors are collaborating with the LPCB. From our perspective, this alliance seamlessly aligns with the essence of The Security Event in demonstrating Best Practice. The Live Testing Lab will showcase the exceptional durability and strength of some of the leading physical security products available on the market today.”
The BRE’s technical experts will be on hand throughout the three-day event in Birmingham to discuss any issues visitors may have regarding standards, testing and approval of physical and electronic security equipment.
