THE CLOSING date for entries to this year’s Tackling Economic Crime Awards (TECAs) is Monday 2 August. If you, your company or someone you know is involved in tackling any area of economic crime such as fraud, money laundering, bribery or corruption and you haven’t already done so then it’s time to consider submitting an entry.
The awards – for which Security Matters serves as the Official Media Partner – are free to enter and open to companies and individuals working in the UK and who operate in the public, private and third sectors. Submissions are invited in the following categories:

*Outstanding Team
*Outstanding Customer Service Initiative
*Outstanding Training Initiative
*Outstanding New Product or Technology (Sponsored by Cifas)
*Outstanding Partnership
*Outstanding Investigator
*Outstanding Policing Initiative

*Outstanding Tackling Economic Crime Professional
*Outstanding Performance in Tackling Bribery and Corruption
*Outstanding Performance in Tackling Money Laundering
*Outstanding Prevention Initiative
*Lifetime Achievement Award
Nominations will be scored by an independent panel of Judges, all of whom have been chosen by supporting associations and special interest groups to represent them. The 2021 Judges are Mark Astley (head of NAFN Data and Intelligence Services), Graeme Biggar CBE of the National Economic Crime Centre (NECC), Robert Brooker (London Fraud Forum), Professor Mark Button of the Centre for Counter Fraud Studies at the University of Portsmouth), Mark Cheeseman (Cabinet Office), Frances Coulson (Fraud Advisory Panel), Stephen Dalton (Insurance Fraud Bureau), Commissioner Ian Dyson QPM, Mike Haley (Cifas), Gaon Hart (NHSCFA), Mark McAuley (CIPFA), Fred Parr (ACFE) and also Katy Worobec of UK Finance.
The judging and scoring process is strict and robust ensuring that all entries have a fair and equal prospect of success.
