SKILLS FOR Security – which exists to help organisations devise, plan, budget for, implement and measure skills development programmes and apprenticeships – has appointed James Gribben in the role of commercial director.

Gribben’s experience gained in working for leading companies within the sector will prove invaluable in assisting Skills for Security continue its growth trajectory and widen its fire and security customer base in the realms of apprenticeships, commercial training and sponsorship.

Gribben is based in the North West and takes up his post immediately. He will work closely with the British Security Industry Association (BSIA), which owns 49.9% of Skills for Security, duly collaborating on projects for the benefit of both organisations and, indeed, the wider industry.

David Scott, managing director at Skills for Security, explained: “We're excited to welcome James as our new commercial director.  I’ve worked closely with James over the last 18 months in his role at the BSIA. He brings value and professionalism to Skills for Security as we look to strengthen our marketing and sales functions.”

Businesses often require assistance in terms of how they can best use those funds set aside by the Apprenticeship Levy to establish learning academies. This is one of many areas in which Skills for Security is able to assist.
