International Cyber Expo previews dedicated Cyber Webinar series

THE NEW International Cyber Expo organised by the Nineteen Group is kicking off its programme of educational content by launching a free-to-attend webinar series. Taking place on Wednesday 7 July, the series will welcome industry experts across four separate sessions running from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.

Opening the series, Philip Ingram MBE – the widely published journalist who specialises in the security and intelligence arenas – will be joined by Professor Ciaran Martin, former head of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), to explore the realities of the current cyber risk landscape and offer tips on understanding the cyber landscape, as well as outline how professionals can make the best use of the NCSC and other public resources.

By its very nature, the cyber world is complex, while it’s fair to say that the legal and regulatory world adds another layer of complexity which is often overlooked. Dean Armstrong QC (head of chambers at The 36 Group) and Philip Ingram will continue the discussion in a 30-minute session concentrating on cyber Law and what detail Chief Information Security Officers and CEOs need to know.

Following this session, Nicola Whiting (chief strategy officer and co-owner of Titania) will deliver a presentation on why embracing diversity – including neurodiversity is normal. Whiting is set to explain how thinking differently provides a better foundation to ensure cyber capabilities are designed and deployed to reflect what should be considered as normality in society. The session will expand viewers’ thinking and help them to understand how proper diversity is normal and can enhance security businesses.

Closing the series, Professor Lisa Short (one of the Top 50 Global Thought Leaders and Influencers on Blockchain) will join Philip Ingram to discuss Blockchain and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for security professionals? How can they help and what do security professionals need to know? The session will afford insight into how Blockchain and NFTs are emerging capabilities with real implications for security, and also outline precisely what security professionals need to know in this area.

Taster for September

International Cyber Expo event director Rachael Shattock informed Security Matters: “We’re incredibly excited to host the first Cyber Webinar series, giving just a taster of what’s to come at the physical International Cyber Expo which runs on 28-29 September at London’s Olympia. Cyber security is a fast-paced and constantly evolving discipline and the webinar series will afford an invaluable opportunity to tap into some of the greatest minds in the industry and gather insight into the current challenges and solutions.”

Shattock concluded: “We strongly recommend that all cyber security professionals looking to stay abreast of the industry’s key developments attend the sessions and then join us for a face-to-face discussion in September.”

Co-located with the International Security Expo, the International Cyber Expo is all about delivering opportunities for face-to-face networking and a chance to discover the latest thinking and solutions designed to mitigate cyber threats.
