Darwin Clayton confirmed as major new sponsor of BSIA’s British Security Awards

THE BRITISH Security Industry Association (BSIA) has announced that award-winning security broker Darwin Clayton is the new sponsor for the regional and national security personnel element of its flagship event, namely the British Security Awards.

Associate members of the BSIA since 2004 and the provider of insurance brokerage for over 100 years, Darwin Clayton will now serve as the lead sponsor of the Trade Association’s five personnel-based categories. Aimed at recognising and rewarding security officer services across the UK region by region, the awards scheme culminates in recognising five national finalists every summer.

As always, the categories include Best Team, Service to the Customer, Outstanding Act, Security Manager of the Year and the Gaby Hutchinson Award for Best Newcomer.

Mike Reddington, CEO at the BSIA, said: “We’re excited to confirm Darwin Clayton as the major sponsor of our long-established security personnel categories. The British Security Awards are an integral element of the BSIA’s strategy and enable us to thank not only our members, but also those individuals who represent them in keeping people, property and places professionally protected at all times.”

Reddington added: “Having these categories sponsored by a recognised and respected company with close links to our members and the Association is testament to the value placed on our awards scheme in the security realm.”

Diligence and professionalism

Mark Harris, director at Darwin Clayton, observed: “We are truly thrilled to have been selected as lead sponsor for these prestigious awards in 2024.”

Harris continued: “Darwin Clayton’s heritage is built upon our long-standing relationship with the security industry. We’ve been a supporter of the BSIA and the annual awards for over 25 years now. We are extremely proud to be partnering with the industry’s leading Trade Association in support of the British Security Awards, which recognise the diligence and professionalism of the security companies and their people who represent the industry.”

The regional security personnel categories are open for entries until 3 April, with the regional winners announced later that month. Victorious entrants then go forward to the national stage of the British Securiry Awards, to be held on 3 July at The Royal Lancaster Hotel in central London.
