THE REGISTER of Chartered Security Professionals (CSyP) held its Annual Dinner at the Rembrandt Hotel in London in late September. The prestigious event was attended by upwards of 100 guests, including more than 80 Chartered Security Professionals.

The evening began with official photographs being taken of the newly admitted CSyPs, ten-year CSyPs, valued Annual Dinner sponsors and, for the very first time, members of the newly established Supporters’ Panel.

The Annual Dinner was hosted by Ian Dyson CBE QPM DL, chair of the Registration Authority, along with Don Randall MBE CSyP FSyI. Guests were also introduced to Chris Smith CSyP, the recently appointed deputy chair of the Registration Authority.

Citations for the newly admitted registrants were presented by the Registrar, Mike Bluestone MA CSyP FSyI MASC, with the support of Deputy Registrars Carl Dakin QGM MSc CSyP FSyI and Mike Lees CSyP, FSyI. Each new registrant was formally welcomed and presented with their Chartered Security Professional certificate.

The keynote speaker was Commander Umer Khan OBE of the City of London Police who delivered an engaging and thought-provoking address on leadership, public service and the evolving role of security in today’s society.

Celebration of achievement

The evening provided a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the CSyP community, recognise long-standing members and welcome new colleagues into the Register.

Ian Dyson explained: “I was absolutely delighted to host the recent CSyP Annual Dinner this year. The Register of Chartered Security Professionals is going from strength to strength, with new applications at a healthy level, increasing Government interest in and support for the scheme and a fantastic response from the industry to our supporter-focused scheme.”

Dyson added: “The Register of Chartered Security Professionals relies upon the hard work of the Registrar and his team and I’m grateful for the work they do to ensure that we maintain the standards and quality of assessment the industry expects.” or
