RUNNING UNDER the banner ‘The Changing Face of Security’, The Security Institute’s Annual Conference for 2024 takes place at The Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole Street, Marylebone in London on 16 October from 9.00 am-7.00 pm.
Delegates will learn how security roles have transformed in recent years, moving beyond a focus on traditional physical security measures to embrace holistic approaches to organisational well-being. This theme includes ensuring supply chain continuity, managing both accidental and deliberate insider threats and enhancing overall organisational resilience.
There will be key detail focused on the ways in which the role of security leaders has evolved, with job titles shifting from heads of security to directors of risk and resilience, in turn reflecting the broader scope of responsibilities in today’s dynamic security landscape.
Further, attendees can become informed on the changing face of the security professional. The modern security profession is now more diverse and inclusive than ever before. As such, The Security Institute and other key organisations such as the National Protective Security Authority and the Security Industry Authority are evolving to reflect such developments.

On the day, guest speakers will include Heather Baily (chair of the Security Industry Authority), Stuart Wortley (a partner at law firm Eversheds Sutherland), Paul Maskall (strategic fraud prevention lead for UK Finance and the City of London Police) and also representatives from the National Protective Security Authority.

This year’s Annual Conference also plays host to The Security Institute’s annual awards ceremony.
