SecuriGroup and ISRM agree partnership on professional development

SECURITY GUARDING solutions specialist SecuriGroup has announced a new partnership with the Institute of Strategic Risk Management (ISRM) that brings the two organisations together to support professional development and share knowledge across the security and risk management sectors.

Over the next 12 months, SecuriGroup and the ISRM will combine their experience across security, operational delivery, strategic risk and crisis management. The partnership will afford SecuriGroup’s employees access to specialist learning, accredited professional development and insight from the ISRM’s extensive international network of risk professionals.

Further, the new partnership will build on the development opportunities already available through the SecuriGroup Academy, which include nationally accredited qualifications, apprenticeships, classroom and on-the-job training in addition to ongoing e-learning.

Alan Gibson, head of learning and development at SecuriGroup, explained: “Developing our people has always been a priority at SecuriGroup. Through the SecuriGroup Academy, we’ve created a strong foundation for individuals to build their skills, knowledge and careers.”

Gibson continued: “Working with the ISRM will open up further opportunities for our teams to learn from different experiences and perspectives. That learning benefits our people and the clients we support every day.”

In conclusion, Gibson stated: “We’re looking forward to sharing our own experience and bringing new ideas and insight back into the work we do.”

Career pathways

Research conducted by the Security Industry Authority identifies a lack of career pathways and progression opportunities as one of the barriers to recruiting and retaining security officers. By creating clearer development routes, employers can help people build lasting careers within the industry.

The partnership will also create opportunities for SecuriGroup and the ISRM to contribute to industry discussions, exchange Best Practice and build relationships across the ISRM’s wider professional network.

Speaking about the partnership, Dr David Rubens (executive director of the ISRM) observed: “The ISRM has always been built on strong working relationships with some of the world’s leading organisations. These are organisations that understand the environment in which they operate, the range of services that they’re offering and, most significantly, the critical importance of investing in their people at every level of the operation.”

Rubens went on to state: “We’ve worked with SecuriGroup for a number of years now. I’ve always been impressed by the seriousness with which the business has approached the issues of supporting and encouraging every one of its team members to think of what they do as a career-building opportunity rather than just a low-level security role.”

In conclusion, Rubens said: “I’m delighted that SecuriGroup is joining us as a Gold Corporate Partner. I’m confident that this partnership will bring the company multiple benefits in achieving its strategic objectives in the coming years. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what we can do together.”
