THE SECURITY Event is set to be the first major exhibition to take place in the sector this year when it opens its doors on 7-9 September at the NEC in Birmingham. What’s more, for the first time the Nineteen Group-organised event will also encompass the National Cyber Security Show.
The Security Event last ran in 2019 and has since been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it’s set to be the first major event in the security sector to welcome visitors since the Conservative Government moved to outline the roadmap out of lockdown.
The Security Event is the leading UK exhibition that targets the commercial and residential security market. As always, this free-to-attend exhibition will bring together a world-class education programme, market leaders and industry experts at what is the recognised ‘home’ of UK security.
It’s uniquely co-located with The Health and Safety Event, The Security Event, The Facilities Event, The Emergency Services Show and, as stated, the newly-launched National Cyber Security Show. This means that delegates only have to register once to enjoy access to all six events which, taken together, form the Nineteen Group’s Safety and Security Series.
Nineteen Group is expecting more than 28,000 delegates to attend across the three days and there are already more than 900 exhibitors signed up to showcase the latest products, services and training available in the various business markets covered. These events span over 54,000 square metres of exhibition space making them the biggest of their kind in the UK.
Unrivalled CPD content
Across the Safety and Security Series there will be more than a dozen educational theatres offering 300-plus hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)-accredited content. These seminar sessions are all free-to-attend. Visitors are urged to reserve their places in advance for any sessions they wish to attend when completing the registration process.
The Security Event will play host to four theatres offering CPD content to all visitors. Dedicated to the needs of security and fire systems installers and integrators, the Installer Theatre will provide important industry updates and guidance for practitioners and business owners. In the Security in Practice Theatre, leading expert speakers will outline emerging technologies, the latest trends and Best Practice Case Studies for security professionals.
The Security Innovation Theatre, meanwhile, will give visitors the opportunity to discover the breakthrough technologies shaping the security sector. For its part, The Tavcom Training Theatre will offer practical training tips and guidance for security installers and integrators.
Supported by the industry
The Security Event is going to be a showcase for the latest innovations in the market and is being supported by the likes of Anixter, ASSA ABLOY, Comelit, Honeywell, Motorola Solutions, TDSi, Texecom, Tyco, Videcon, Ajax Systems, BT Redcare, CSL, Oprema and Panasonic (to name but a few).
The industry has also backed The Security Event in a big way. Key organisations supporting the event include ASIS UK, The Security Institute, the Linx International Group, Secured by Design, Tavcom Training and the Association of Security Consultants.
In what is another first, The Security Event will offer free parking on site at the NEC. This will further enforce the widely-held belief that the venue is the most accessible for any event in the security and fire sectors with a train station and airport plus the adjacent M42 motorway offering excellent transport links.
