‘Safe Spaces’ theme underpins AUCSO Annual Conference 2025

‘SAFE SPACES’ has been announced as the underpinning theme for the forthcoming Association of University Chief Security Officers (AUCSO) Annual Conference 2025, which is the organisation’s 41st gathering of this nature. Registration is now open for member institutions only.

The Annual Conference will take place from 7-9 April at the University of Warwick and is to be hosted by Mark Kennell, head of community safety and security at the University of Warwick.

The programme of keynote speakers is being finalised and will be announced very soon. Last year, the AUCSO Annual Conference witnessed a record attendance of over 250 delegates travelling from as far afield as Australia and USA, with mainland Europe and South Africa also well represented, alongside AUCSO members and guests in addition to industry exhibitors and partners.

New suppliers and partners

2025 will see new suppliers and AUSCO partners supporting the Annual Conference. Global partners that have already signed up include CriticalArc, which will be showcasing its emergency management planning tool designated Safezone, Dataminr (whose pioneering real-time Artificial Intelligence platform discovers the earliest signals of events, risks and threats from within public data) and CSE Crosscom, the business actively enhancing safety by integrating technologies such as two-way radios, body-worn cameras, cellular radios, video analytics and CCTV in order to protect people, property and places.

The Welcome Reception takes place on the Monday evening within the Mead Gallery at the University of Warwick. This presents an opportunity for meeting suppliers, exhibitors and AUCSO colleagues. On the Tuesday evening there will be networking at The Stables, Stoneleigh, accompanied by an evening of games and entertainment.

The 2025 black-tie Gala Dinner and Awards will take place on the Wednesday evening at The Slate at the University of Warwick and will be attended by AUSCO delegates, guests and exhibitors. The winners of the AUCSO Awards will be announced on the night.

Reconnecting with colleagues

Commenting on the 2025 Annual Conference, AUCSO’s chief operating officer Julie Barker stated: “We are delighted to welcome members, visitors and valued supply partners to our 41st Annual Conference, where we look forward to reconnecting with colleagues, making new connections and sharing insights.”

Barker continued: “This year’s ‘Safe Spaces’ theme will guide a carefully curated content programme. As always, a particular highlight of the event will be the Gala Dinner and Awards, where we celebrate the remarkable achievements of security teams. It’s sure to be an inspiring evening of recognition, networking and celebration.”

The Annual Conference is open to AUCSO members. The cost is £625 per person (or £575 for Early Bird registration). Registration includes attendance at all Annual Conference sessions, refreshments and lunches and attendance at all social events including the Welcome Reception, the networking evening and the Gala Dinner and Awards in addition to accommodation (check-in is on 7 April and check-out on 10 April).

Registration for this year’s Annual Conference closes on 7 March.
