Remote working and mental wellbeing

The unprecedented global pandemic that changed the world as we know it impacted on every aspect of life, with employment being no different. Job uncertainty, mass redundancies, furlough schemes and unemployment reaching higher levels, it’s important to consider the impact of these factors on mental wellbeing.

Employers have faced new challenges and many are juggling running successful businesses during an extremely difficult time as well as ensuring they support the mental wellbeing of their staff.

The remote working situation has resulted in many becoming isolated with processes moving online too. Through partnering with our candidates and clients here at ENG we wanted to understand the impact the pandemic has had on the wellbeing on the workforce. Employee engagement has been a topic of interest, and we believe an engaged workforce correlates with mental wellbeing at a high.

We surveyed 50 people, within the Health and Safety industry to gather their thoughts and opinions on the wellbeing topic.
