Propertymark joins growing roster of Gate Safe supporters

GATE SAFE – the charity formed back in 2010 to raise awareness of the dangers of poorly installed automated/mechanical gates – has added Propertymark (the acknowledged professional body for the property sector) to its extensive list of opinion former supporters, one of which is Security Matters.

Propertymark is the leading membership organisation for property agents across sales, lettings, commercial, auctioneers and inventories and boasts a membership of nearly 17,500. The organisation provides guidance and advice and also conducts key research, as well as offering an annual programme of workshops, conferences and events for its members.

At the heart of Propertymark’s ethos is a commitment to set professional standards and ensure Best Practice and compliance with appropriate regulations.

Gate Safe has long championed the need for an improved understanding of the importance of automated gate safety among property professionals and is keen to garner their support in promoting the need to ensure safe and compliant installations for landlords, purchasers, homeowners and tenants alike.

As a result of its stated support for Gate Safe, Propertymark will now be sharing a guide detailing the protocols required to deliver a safe gate with its members. There are also plans for a dedicated webinar and possible presentations at future Propertymark events to be held in 2023.

Setting the highest standards

Commenting on the organisation’s decision to support Gate Safe, Jacqui Coburn (marketing and communications manager for Propertymark) explained: “We are dedicated to setting the highest standards for professionals operating within the sector, be they estate agents, letting agents, commercial and business agents, inventory clerks or valuation agents. Part of our remit is to provide guidance on a wide variety of issues. Educating members on the importance of Gate Safe is going to be key, and notably so since automated gates are fast becoming a more frequent feature at both domestic and commercial premises.”

Coburn continued: “We understand that automated gate safety is very much a specialist area. On that basis, we are keen to ensure that our members recommend working only with professionally trained and competent installers to confirm the safety of any automated gate installations. We look forward to working with Gate Safe to help spread the word via our extensive network.”

Gate Safe is the natural industry authority on automated gate safety, delivering practical information and training (in plain English and minus the technical jargon) to the broad range of professionals associated with gate installations, as well as providing helpful advice to gate owners and the general public.
