Paxton continues supporting apprentices through Skills for Security

SECURITY TECHNOLOGY manufacturer Paxton has once again partnered with for Skills for Security to reinforce its commitment when it comes to developing young professionals for key roles across the security industry.

As a long-standing supporter of industry training initiatives, Paxton works closely with Skills for Security to strengthen career pathways and ensure that apprentices gain hands-on experience with the latest security technologies.

This partnership affords learners access to high-quality technical knowledge, real-world installation practice and exposure to new industry developments, thereby helping to prepare the next generation of security engineers to fulfil the evolving demands of the sector.

Dan Drayton, divisional director of the EMEA sales region at Paxton, said: “Investing in skills isn’t optional for our industry. It’s essential. We need more and more confident and capable engineers coming through the ranks and that starts with proper training and real exposure to the technologies they’ll be installing every day. Through our continued partnership with Skills for Security, we’re supporting apprentices at the start of their careers and helping to build a stronger future for our sector.”

Experiencing the training

Apprentice Charles Hill recently experienced the process first-hand during a Paxton training session. Hill said: “Paxton’s representatives came into the centre last week and delivered training on Net2, Entry, Paxton10 and PaxLock. We covered how to install each system, what they’re used for and how to programme them correctly.”

Hill continued: “It was really interesting and easy to follow. I learned a lot from the session and now feel much more confident working with the systems now. I would definitely recommend the training to any apprentice or Paxton installer.”

Specialist apprenticeships

Skills for Security delivers specialist apprenticeships and training programmes designed for the security and fire sectors. Through collaboration with industry leaders like Paxton, learners gain valuable exposure to the latest access control technologies and Best Practice installation standards.

Mollie Evans, marketing and sponsorship manager at Skills for Security, commented: “We’re delighted that our Platinum Sponsor Paxton has renewed its partnership agreement with us for another year. This ongoing arrangement continues to realise a huge impact. Paxton representatives’ visits to our training centres afford apprentices valuable hands-on insight, while their generous kit donations allow learners to build confidence using real-world equipment.”

Further, Evans noted: “Paxton’s support at events helps to spark interest from future talent and showcase the opportunities available within the sector.”

As the industry continues to evolve, Paxton remains fully focused on supporting those individuals who will shape its future.
