Optimal Risk Group set to welcome Rick Mounfield as new director

As recently reported by Security Matters, Mounfield is soon to leave The Security Institute after five years in the role of CEO. Going forward, he will be responsible for helping the Optimal Risk Group to develop its numerous services across the full range of sectors in which it operates.

Mounfield is a global specialist in the arenas of protective security and close protection risk management. He was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal in 2011 for his outstanding career, which included the provision of close protection services for British ambassadors and senior generals in hostile countries. Mounfield served a total of eight years on operations across 22 years of service in the British Army. He’s the proud holder of an MSc in Security Management gained through study at Loughborough University.

Commenting on the news, Mike O’Neill (Group managing director at the Optimal Risk Group) stated: “Having known Rick since before he left the Army and then observed how he has grown as a professional, I’m personally very pleased that he’s joining us. This is an exciting time for the Group and Rick will be an important part of our future growth.”

Bridging the divide

In response, Mounfield noted: “Joining the Optimal Risk Group at this time is not only exciting, but also offers the challenges that I need for the future and the next stage of my career. Mounfield leaves The Security Institute having successfully doubled the organisation’s membership and established it as the leading professional membership body for dedicated practitioners here in the UK. He starts in his new role at the Optimal Risk Group on Monday 2 May.
